Quote: Anything that you can do, I can do better!" JUNIORS KELLY FLETCHER (a.k.a "Fletch) Kelly made some major desisions this year athletically. She came out in the winter to get in shape for softball and ended up having such a good season that she gave up softball and came out for spring track. Kelly now has some major decisions to be made for the fall being that she has played field hockey for a number of years. Kelly made major strides as a runner this year. After spending much of the winter trying to figure out what her best event was, it was the spring where she found her niche. It was the 3200 where we saw great potential for Kelly. Her PR dropped from the mid 13:00's to 12:30. Kelly has more room for improvement and should be a sub 11:50 3200 runner next season. Kelly also ran 21:00 in a recent road race, again proving her potential as a up and coming distance runner Other athletic accomplishments that Kelly received were being named Burlington County Times scholastic spotlight for spring track, The TREND "Trendy" award for spring track and Athlete of the week at Cherokee for Winter Track and Spring Track. Favorite Movie: A League of their Own/ Searching for Bobby Fischer Favorite Athlete: Derek Jeter (NY Yankees) Athletic Accomplishments: Since this is the first year I ever ran, I really don't have that many track accomplishments- (and I wouldn't want to annoy my coach by putting my field hockey and softball accomplishments!!) Hopefully by next year I'll have some more. 10 years from now Kelly will be a mad scientist living in a bubble on the tiny island of Dominica. I will have won the nobel peace prize for inventing a technique to cultivate a human heart outside of the body. Maybe I'll have some kids, but 25 is kind of young. I'll probably be in a lot of debt because of medical school. In the summer my husband and I will go back to his hometown in Puerto Rico where we were also married 2 years ago and explore the tropical rain forests and just lounge on on tropical beach backing up to our condo- me sipping virgin pina coladas!!!! Life is so stressful!! In a couple of months we'll both be back to work once again- I think I'll start working on the cure for AIDS and my husband needs to get back to his job too. (he's been working on the animation for the upcoming Disney movie Christopher Columbus!) As for my running career I'll have run in 2 marathons (and yes- the times for all 26.2 miles will be printed on the back of my hand!) Training every morning and night looking back on my high school career and wondering why I could never get sub 12 in the 3200! Favorite Quotes: "Spandex- it's a privilege not a right!"
